As Distributed Energy Resources continue to develop within the Distribution System, high concentrations of Solar and Battery generators challenge the utility hosting capacity. 

ControlPoint Technologies is currently working with several electric utilities to optimize the installations of Solar, Battery, and/or Wind Turbine generators where space may be limited.

Our Planning Engineers will evaluate current and proposed DER sites within the planning area.  Innovative solutions are developed to serve all proposed generation.   Mitigations are developed to ensure safe and reliable interconnection.  Major system upgrades are evaluated to optimize the distribution system in its future form.

The studies develop service connection requirements and analyze thermal capability, voltage stability, overvoltage conditions, protection coordination, and metering while following State Tariff Compliances and Industry Codes and Standards.

Throughout all phases of the studies ControlPoint Technologies Engineers provide technical support to local utilities and developers. Analytical reports are developed which include results, recommendations, and conceptual estimates determined during analysis phase.
